Our Story

At RMG we use our experience to help guide you in the most knowledgeable and efficient way possible. Long story short, we’ve been there before. Long story long, we’ve been songwriters for more centuries combined than most people reading this have been alive, we’ve toured nationally with artists signed to major label deals (and those with no deals because artistry is rad, no matter who recognizes it), and we’ve produced, engineered and played on more projects than we can count. But at the end of the day this crazy thing we call the music business can be really tough and we’re all about taking care of our Family. We’re Relative Music Group, after all. Relative Music Group was founded in 2017 by father/son duo Dennis and Jesse Matkosky. The independent company’s first signed writer, Michael Hardy, helped put the company on the map. Today, we represent a wide variety of talented songwriters. The Family has certainly grown, but the commitment to treating each other as such stays the same.
